Jingyue (’22), Rising 1st-Year Ph.D. Student
Jingyue graduated from the Systems Medicine Program in 2022.
“My transformative time in the Systems Medicine program at Georgetown University equipped me with invaluable knowledge in bioinformatics, cancer epigenetics, and biostatistics, positioning me to excel in the intersection of biochemistry and informatics. My dedication and proficiency were recognized with a first-place honor for my internship poster presentation, where I delved into the impact of parental stress on neuroblastoma development through RNA-seq analysis.
Transitioning seamlessly into a professional role after graduation, I joined the HIVE Lab at The George Washington University as a bioinformatics research assistant, contributing to the development of a sustainable global glycoinformatics knowledgebase. The collaborative experience honed my ability to integrate, mine, and analyze complex biomedical datasets. My academic journey inspired me to deepen my scientific quest, leading me to apply to Ph.D. programs. After receiving offers from eight esteemed institutions, I am thrilled to embark on my Ph.D. in genetics and genomics at Baylor College of Medicine, where I am eager to continue pushing the boundaries of scientific discovery.”
