Kylan Kelley (’23), Rising 1st-Year Medical Student
Kylan graduated from the Systems Medicine Program in 2023.
“Since graduating from the Systems Medicine program, I have been employed as an ORISE Fellow at the FDA for the Office of Blood Research and Review under Dr. Indira Hewlett, working to develop an improved protocol for pathogen detection in blood donations to mitigate transfusion-transmitted infections. Additionally, my team is preparing to develop artificial intelligence tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities of HIV rapid antibody tests for patients to obtain results in their homes.
Even more excitingly, thanks in large part to the Systems Medicine Program, I have been blessed with tremendous fortune with my medical school applications and I am happy to share that I have chosen to matriculate to Georgetown University School of Medicine this upcoming fall. I look forward to staying close to the Systems Medicine family, helping guide prospective and new students while continuing to enjoy the mentorship of our shared support system. Hoya Saxa!”
